4.3 Client / Server installation
With the Client/Server installation you determine which computer in the local
network (LAN) is the TIS-Office server, i.e. where the database is to be
installed. You will thus be able to access the fleet data saved in TIS-Office from
different client computers.
With the Client / Server installation you must
• first install the server with SQL Server 2005 Express or SQL Server 2005
and the TIS-Office databases
For further information on the components required on the server
system, please refer to Chapter 4.3.1 "TIS-Office Server installation"
from page 4-17.
• and then the Client or Clients (TIS-Office application).
When selecting "Client" the installation program will prompt you to specify
the database server (which must already be available on the LAN).

from page 4-25.
Condition
Depending on your current operating system settings you must have
administrator rights or have permission to install programs.
Tip
Before installing the program you should carry out the following procedures:
• clean the data carrier
• defragment the hard disk
• save a backup of your work files and hard disk
• set up a System Restore point.
